26.2.....because 26.3 would be CRAZY
In 2020, I raised $365. Join me in completing my 2021 fundraising goal!
You are crazy! A runner's favorite compliment
Why I'm Running,
FOR ME - Two years ago I was told that I needed to hang up my running shoes and the odds of me running again were slim to none due to the mechanics of my back and a medical condition in my head. When you find something you are so passionate about that brings pure joy to your soul to hear words such as this is truly heartbreaking. I remember thinking “You are as strong as your weakest link” and in this case my “thoughts” were my weakest link. So, “Never stop trying. Never stop believing, Never give up. Your day will come.” – Mandy Hale
In June of 2019 I decided to run my first 5K after being off adhering to doctors and surgeons orders! I decided to "self-heal" and train my body through yoga and meditative practice (opting out of physical therapy & medications). I completed that 5K (slower than humanly possible, but I did it). I felt an unbelievable high and I knew I was where I was meant to be! I set my heart, mind and body on a goal and training and before I l knew it my legs were taking me distances I never imagined were possible.
I started walking, walking turned into jogging and jogging turned into running. On 10/13/2019 my journey of walking resulted in 26.2 miles for Chicago and most importantly for myself. To prove to myself that I wasn’t going to let someone tell me I couldn’t do something.
FOR MY GIRLS - I run because I have 2 beautiful girls who's eyes are always watching so I want to do my best to lead by example. I want to be a role model in their lives <3
FOR ADVOCATE - Now, I want to run for a cause. I ran a marathon for myself and now I want to run a marathon for those who cant run for themselves. Running so more people can be positively impacted by the dollars I am able to raise. on October 10, 2021 I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the charity running team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the charity running team, I will be training, fundraising and running 26.2 miles to benefit patients and families in need.
