This will be my third return to the inspired to run team for the Shamrock Shuffle. And I run for the oncology unit and Cancer Care Center (Hope Oncology/Bhorade Center) at Good Samaritan Hospital and for all my oncology patients. Every day at work I see the rollercoaster life brings them. The ups and downs of cancer and all the scary things that come of it. I see the pain and suffering from the disease itself and the treatments they have to embrace head on. I also see the courage, strength, and audacity that they have and carry within themselves every day. They inspire me to fight for them and for others. The beauty the oncology department has brought into my life is such a blessing. It has opened my eyes to see the precious gifts of life that surround us each and every day and gives me the motivation to push through my daily challenges and be grateful for the life that I have been given. It has also blessed me with relationships that I will always cherish and never forget. I am Inspired to Run for my oncology patients.
I support the fighters, admire the survivors, honor the taken, and I WILL NEVER EVER GIVE UP HOPE!
On March 25th, I will be representing Advocate Health Care as a member of the Inspired to Run team at the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K! As a member of the Inspired to Run team, I will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 4.97 miles to benefit patients and families in need.
Since 2011, the Inspired to Run team has raised more than $1 million for Advocate Health Care programs and services. By joining the Inspired to Run team, I am part of a diverse group of people who are supporting cancer research, helping children and adults with Down syndrome, giving back to the nurses and physicians who save lives everyday and much more.
You too can support Advocate Health Care by supporting my efforts to fundraise. Your donation of any amount will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help to ensure that more than one million people have access to world-class care close to their home. #fightagainstcancer #tealtriumphs
