Jay's Hope Team
Why I'm Inspired to Run
On October 10th, we will be representing Jay's Hope and Advocate Aurora Health at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of the Jay's Hope team, we will be training, fundraising, and ultimately running 26.2 miles to benefit young adults who are battling cancer.
Since 2011, the Advocate Aurora team has raised more than $850,000 to support programs and services for those in need. Jay's Hope has hosted a team for the last four years and has raised over $15,000 to offer hope and support to young adults battling cancer. By joining the broader Advocate Aurora team, we are part of a diverse group of people who are supporting cancer research, helping children and adults with Down syndrome, giving back to the nurses and physicians who save lives everyday and much more.
Jay's Hope was founded in memory of Jay Burger who lost his courageous battle with cancer on June 25, 2016 at age 24. An Iowa Hawkeye who was a dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend - Jay continues to inspire others daily with his passion to live life to its fullest - always helping and supporting others. You too can support Jay's Hope by supporting our team efforts to fundraise. Your donation of any amount will not only help us achieve our goals, but will help to ensure that young adults battling cancer, who often slip through the cracks, have access support.
